This cologne is a throwback to when Vetiver scents dominated the market and the term metrosexual didn't exist. As usual it has Varvatos' usual polish. It smells of vetiver / tabaco / cinnamon / wood. If you wear a suit to work I would recommend this scent highly. It's also a great winter smell or something to wear to a more traditional event. Definitely a go to for certain situations for me.
Toss on a black suit w/ a red tie, a bit of this cologne, and let people know you're not just a man, but you're in charge.

I purchased this cologne because I smelled at department store at the mall. When I received the package it looked just like the one in the picture, but the smell was nothing like the one at the mall. I think this is a knock off. Don't buy this cologne from amazon, try a reputable seller.

I checked this product out at a Nordstrom, tested the sample, and fell in love with the smell. I decided to not purchase it at the department store and went to Amazon. At first I was skeptical of the price Amazon was charging but realized it was being shipped from Amazon so it had to be the legit product. Item shipped quickly and well packaged. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the smell due to its strong alcohol content. It sure wasn't the same and the smell didn't last long. I went to the department store to retest the scents and it was obvious from not only me but my girlfriend as well, that the smell was not the same. The Amazon version had too much alcohol, and well, smelled cheap. From what I understand I can not return this product to amazon for a refund/exchange due to be a fragrance, and in the end (for the first time) I am no content with my amazon purchase. :(

Vintage definitely is sweeet, but not to the point of cloying. Although other detect leather, I can't, I guess what other called "leather" is an equivalent to "spices" for me. For the sake of being simple, let's call it warm. Warm here is cinnamon-ie... It's like that potpourri bowl your gf leaves on the table in the fall season. I was hoping for a faint note of tobacco but I was disappointed, there was none, hence the 4 stars. The dry down note isn't what I was hoping for, it's great to smell on yourself but if I smell it on others, especially a 40ish to 50ish... eck..p-p-p-pukee.... the drydown is odd at the end but let's not worry about that, it'll be too faint for other to notice unless it's a nose to skin range. Overall, great mid-note, it smells like warm cinnamon with an angelic touch of vanilla, lasting about 4 hours in tropical setting, end notes is above average for normal skin but great on oily skin (apply behind ear long after a shower so you accumulate enough body oil and dirt and hormones to prolong the mid-note, I know it's not okay to leave your hind earlobe oily but hey, that's where you secrete the most body hormone in oil form). If you really like this type of smell, woodsy aromatic, try shoot for Creed's Tabarome, the real one in Neiman Marcus now, not ebay or even amazon (none are real). I'm sure you won't even return to these middle class EDT for they lack the real depth, but that's another story.
