I love this book.
It has many hair styles to practice and explains the steps very throughly and detailed.
It is good for some one who is a beginer at hair styling like my self.
It came with a lot of different hair styles.
The whole book is hair styles so it's more hands on than theory(which is good).
The book arrived very very fast, within 2 days after I ordered.
I highly recommended this book.

About six months ago I began working at a salon that specializes in styling hair. Unfortunately, I had absolutely no experience in up-styling. I was just a cut and color girl. The salon owns this book and encouraged me to use it as a learning tool and work on doll heads during my down-time. Determined to get on the fast-track to styling, I purchased "Great Hair" and began doing the hairstyles at home, beginning with the first style and methodically moving through the book. I figure I will be pretty dang good at styling by the time I get to the last style in the book.

If you are bored that your hair looks plain, this book is for you!
Amazing techniques, pretty pictures.. Easy to follow, there is something for everyone.
I think Davis has a great way to make the hair look fun and sexy.
You will see how to design your hair with bobby pins, how to tease it, how to attach extension and so on.

I purchased this in a package with a practice hair dummy. I work in fashion and was hoping for some inspiration for hairstyles... I wish I had seen this book in person. I would not have purchased it if I'd actually looked through it in the store. The styles are dated and can verge toward cheesy. It would have been relevant in the mid 90's, but not now. Bottom line: there are many other books out there that are better hairstyling books than this.

I bought this book for semi-professional purposes. As it seems, though, hairstyles in this book are less than professional. Sure, diversity is the key strength of the book. But execution is rather messy and looks unfinished (pins and clips in the hair of the models, a few hairs sticking out here and there....) But otherwise, the explanations as to how you get to the final stage and how when is such hair appropriate, are pretty ok.
