The Schick Hydro 5 Razor just might be the best razor I have ever used. It provides a close shave and the razor seems to just glide along your face. I am in the process of growing a goatee for a character I am playing in a play and the outline of my goatee was easily attained with this gem of a razor. I haven't been a Schick man before, always seem to get another brand but from now on I want the shave that this razor gives me. It has an open back end so the blades will rinse off very nice and little hairs won't get stuck in the blade, it even has a feature where if you have missed a spot you don't need to lather up again, the blade will generate soap so you can shave it.

While I don't shave my face, I do trim it and shave excess fuzz off the neck and cheeks. The main reason for buying this was for my head, as I prefer being bald. Before the Hydro 5 came along I was using the Gillette Fusion 5+1, which was pretty darn good since it didn't scrape or cut. The trade-off was some annoying razor burn for a day. It seemed this was as good as it got...until Hydro 5 came along. They advertised its virtues: 5 blades for a close shave, depth-regulators on each blade to gauge blade depth, the lubricant strip and the flip-head for fine-trimming. I'm a skeptic, which is okay, since this avails one to buy and try rather than say "BS"; thus I bought Hydro 5. So, with 4 days of stubble on the noggin top, I attacked it, deciding to use a bit more pressure to see if it could instigate some razor burn. When everything was said and done, the shaving experience was not only a little smoother but absolutely zero razor burn! And no nicks or cuts! This was also while using warm water and Barbasol shaving cream. Would I recommend this product? By all means! Without reservation.

I got this for my husband to try. He thought it was a fabulous product. He said that it felt like the blade never touched his face at all. Very smooth. No nicks or cuts. The complaint he did have was with the "adultproof" packaging. Packaging is more and more of an issue with me, so my reviews will reflect that in the future. Coulda been a 5 star product if I didn't have to get a tool to get it open.

I've seen these advertised, so I was very interested in trying one of these new razors.
I must admit it's a very close, smooth shave. But keep in mind it's five razors, and if you run over a pimple or such you're going to bleed. It's not one of those "vibrating" razors that use a battery. It's a traditional soap and water razor, but with five very sharp blades. And the refills are not as expensive (as of now, this is one of the newer razors on the market) as some of the other multi-blade razors on the market.
I like the name, the look and the shave of this razor!

I thought the five blades would quickly become clogged, but they didn't. The Schick Hydro 5 gave a really close shave, though it didn't feel like a razor. There was no grab at all and I kept thinking it wasn't working or that it had a plastic guard over the blade, but no, that was the actual blade gliding over my skin so gently. I also like the nice grip and the sturdy feel of the handle. Economical, too. The current blade has lasted me 2 weeks and is still going strong. The Schick Hydro 5 Blade is my new favorite razor.
